King Singh, was diagnosed with acute lymphocytic leukemia, a blood cancer, when he was just 2 years old. Not long after, he was also diagnosed with a rare genetic blood disorder. Now, he’s celebrating taking his last chemo pill.

“He is the strongest kid that we know. We could not be happier this journey is coming to an end,” said his overjoyed mom. King has remained positive and high spirited in spite of it all. King eventually became an advocate for cancer, participating in fundraisers, researches and support charities. Now, at the age of 6, he is celebrating as he took his last chemo pill—after his three and a half year battle.

King was amongst family and friends in New York City’s Times Square in great spirits. Sitting on his dad’s shoulders, the brave 6-year-old opened wide to show the world as he took in the last pill and opened once more to show it was no longer there. It was a huge celebration of victory for King.

He was also in the presence of NYPD Hope, a fairly new program where they welcome with open arms sick and terminally ill children into their family, making them honorary members. “We are the luckiest people in the world to learn the lessons we get from kids like this young warrior,” said NYPD Officer Anthony Passaro. Wishing King the best on his life after this remarkable recovery journey.

Watch the video below to see King celebrate this milestone and to hear more about the NYPD program that gives brave kids like Singh the opportunity to become honorary NYPD officers.
