Dylan Affleck, 17, was born with a genetic disease called Retinitis Pigmentosa. It’s a condition that will gradually strip him of his eyesight as he gets older.

At 17 years old, Dylan’s symptoms are just beginning to emerge. He has lost his peripheral vision and night vision, and has had to drop off his beloved high school football team.

Dylan and his two siblings are being raised by their single mother. She has a full-time job but is struggling to make ends meet. There is a groundbreaking new treatment that could significantly help Dylan’s eyesight and slow the progression of his Retinitis Pigmentosa, but it costs $22,000.

Recently, Dylan and five of his friends were pulled over while leaving their school in Farmington, Utah. The group of friends thought they’d be returning back to class after a quick lunch break.

Instead, the teens were pulled over by Officer Giancarlo Candiotti. After inspecting the car, Officer Candiotti told the confused teens what he had to do next.

“Everybody’s gonna get a ticket now, just so you know.”

The officer then told the group to follow him to an amusement park.

As it turned out, Officer Candiotti knew a lot more about Dylan and his family than he ever expected…
