“I never thought that I was going to do anything like that.”
Amy Schumer is having an exciting year: The comedian and actor is about to launch a Hulu series, Life & Beth, and she’s going to co-host this year’s Oscars with Wanda Sykes and Regina Hall.
After announcing that she’d had a hysterectomy and an appendectomy to treat endometriosis last fall on Instagram, the comedian opened up to the Hollywood Reporter about her decision to get liposuction, which she told fans about last January.
“It’s not about needing to be slamming, because I’ve never been famous for being hot,” Amy told the Hollywood Reporter. “But I’d reached a place where I was tired of looking at myself in the mirror,” she said, adding that “grilled chicken and walks” could only do so much to help.
Amy also recently spoke about opting for the procedure on Chelsea Handler’s Dear Chelsea podcast. “I got liposuction,” she said. “I never thought that I was going to do anything like that. Like when I would hear liposuction I was just like, ‘That’s so crazy to me,’ and I would say that I’m not ever going to do anything.”
“I healed well,” Amy added about getting a C-section, a hysterectomy, and an appendectomy. “And and I was like, can I get lipo?”
“And I got lipo, and I’m feeling really good.”
Happy for you, Amy!
