Hill House is a fave of BuzzFeed editors, influencers, and pretty much everyone I see on the street in NYC. The Nap Dress exploded in popularity in the quarantine days when we were all 1) in need of comfy clothes to work from home in that still felt cute and 2) desperate to infuse our wardrobes with Bridgerton vibes. Well, both of those things are still true, and even now that people actually leave the house more, these dresses are just as much of an It item as ever. The first time I wore mine to a dinner, TWO other people at the restaurant were wearing it in different prints.
I finally caved and bought one last month, because I couldn’t pass up the new lavender stripe version. I’m completely in love with it, even though there are a couple cons. The lavender stripe style is pretty sheer and def benefits from a slip skirt underneath. Also, since it’s linen, it does wrinkle pretty easily (I have a couple other Hill House items in a different material that do, too, but it might be less of an issue with the poplin versions of this dress) — but with some Laundress Crease Release spray, I’ve so far avoided the need to iron. And you know what? Those two small issues were a small price to pay for how incredible I feel in this dress. There’s soooo much stretch in the bodice, making it super comfy but also able to perfectly conform to your bust. It runs nice and roomy because of this too, so size down if you’re in between sizes. The twirlworthy midi length is *chef’s kiss*, and those shoulder straps??? The perfect level of ruffle to frame your gorgeous face without being overwhelming, and they don’t slip off your shoulder like the straps on so many dresses in similar styles do. And OF COURSE it has pockets. I will be checking for new prints season after season — even if I do end up caving and buying the pink roses one before this summer is through.
