Based on the book Dopesick: Dealers, Doctors and the Drug Company that Addicted America, this miniseries revolves around the opioid epidemic that many Americans face today, and more importantly, the drug company that started it all. The series travels through different stories of people whose lives have been affected by the opioid crisis, including a minor who’s seeking pain relief after an injury, a doctor who falls into his own addiction, Oxycontin salesmen whose ethics are turned upside down, and the lawyers trying to take down Perdue Pharma once and for all. The entire cast pulls out some of their best performances in this one. Dopesick is a tough watch, but it’s a necessary one.
