'90 Day Fiancé' Star Ashley Is Proving Her Haters Wrong on Instagram

While some of the couples on 90 Day Fiancé are hard to explain — Colt and Larissa, anyone? — there are some couples you can’t help but root for.

Ashley Martson and Jay Smith belong in the latter group. The unlikely pair met in Jay’s hometown in Jamaica while Ashley was on there for a wedding, and kept in touch on social media. After spending just eight days together in person, Jay popped the question.

However, it has not been easy for the couple, thanks in part to those cheating rumors, courtesy of Ashley’s former BFF Natalie. Ashley and Jay’s huge age gap — he’s 20 years old while she’s a decade older at 31 — also doesn’t help.

“Lol. Jay and Ashley trying to have a ‘grown up’ conversation with Jay sucking on a juice pouch for emphasis every time he makes a point,” one viewer recently tweeted before another added, “Sometimes I think I Ashley forgets that Jay was a teenager last year.”

Despite their very public relationship on the TLC reality series, there are still a lot of questions fans have about Ashley and how she ended up with a 90-day fiancé. Luckily, the blonde beauty is very active on social media and willing to share even more details about her life that you won’t see on the TV screen.

What exactly does Ashley do for a living?

Ashley calls herself a world traveler and reality TV star on her Instagram bio but those aren’t her only jobs. She is also a bartender.

Does Ashley have any kids — not counting Jay?

Yes, she is a proud mother of two, but don’t expect her son or daughter to appear on the reality series. “People are already asking… no my children will not be on the show and will not be posted on social media,” she wrote recently on Instagram. “Please respect our privacy and allow my children to be children. Thanks.”

As for Jay being a stepfather at such a young age, Ashley thinks he is “extremely mature.” Right…

Ashley recently revealed she struggles with lupus.

During one episode of 90 Day Fiancé, Ashley looked worse for wear, which had some viewers concerned she was under the weather. Ashley explained that it was a reaction to medication she takes for lupus.

“A lot of people are asking why I look so sad and like I was crying for days in last night’s episode. This photo was taken hours before that filming. I had a reaction to a medication for lupus and my eyes and my neck were [completely] broke out, she wrote on Instagram. “They gave me steroids to help it, but it wasn’t completely gone. I was battling this the entire rest of the season so I just wanted to address it.”

Are Ashley and Jay still together?

On 90 Day Fiancé, Ashley made it very clear that no one, not even Jesus himself, could stop her from marrying Jay — and it looks like she wasn’t exaggerating.

According to Starcasm, the couple officially tied the knot this past May after tracking down the couple’s wedding registry. However, you only need to look at Ashley and  Jay’s personal Instagram pages to see that they are still very much in love.

“I love you so much and don’t know what I would do if you weren’t in my life,” Ashley recently gushed on Instagram. Jay also shouts out his “wifey,” on the platform, calling her a “bag of snacks,” and his “woman crush every day.”

Awww, love. Watch 90 Day Fiancé Sundays at 9 p.m. on TLC.

4 Celebrities Who Got Accused of Bodyshaming with "Fitspo" Posts

It’s not hard for me to feel physically inadequate. All I need to do is log into social media and scroll through countless fitness models and muscular dudes doing workouts that seem impossible as sweat glistens and rolls down their perfectly sculpted abs.

Usually it inspires me to work out and eat a bit healthier, which I have been doing, but no matter what, I always feel like there’s someone bigger, stronger, leaner, more vascular, and just all around sexier than I am. I mean, no matter how good I look or how hard I work, I’m never going to be Jason Momoa — it’s just not going to happen.

I don’t let it get me down that much, because that’s not something I can control so I just “gotta do me”, as the cool kids say. But for some, it’s not that simple, and they see the constant “fitspo” posts on the internet as a huge negative or an indirect form of bodyshaming.

Which is what recently happened with Scooby Doo: Monsters Unleashed star Sarah Michelle Gellar after she posted a few modeling pictures as a personal reminder to not overeat this Thanksgiving.

Whenever it’s Turkey Day, engorging is way, way too easy. You’ve got a big, beautiful bird in front of you. Gravy. And the desserts, my God, the endless amounts of delicious fall-themed desserts like pumpkin, sweet potato, and apple pie, or my aunt’s Yum-Yum cake. I have been eating that for years and I still have no idea what’s in it, but I can guarantee that I’m stuffing away at least 1,000 calories of that alone this Thanksgiving.

41-year-old Gellar’s post, with the caption “I’m just going to pin these up all over my house as a reminder not to overeat on Thursday #thanksgivingprep” seemed to anger folks, and they were quick to lambaste the actress in the comments section:

“Hey @sarahmgellar I freakin love you, but this messaging (esp for young vulnerable girls) is crap. What about someone who can do both? What about considering your messages through a body-shaming/adding to shitty culture filter before posting? Your body is gorgeous, but so are all bodies – chubby, fat, curves need lifting up, not more demonising,” one follower wrote.

Some argued that a day here and there of over-indulging isn’t going to destroy one’s waistline, but even if someone isn’t slim, that’s not necessarily a bad thing:

“One day of eating good food and enjoying tradition with your family and friends won’t change your body. And even if it did… is it bad to be anything but slim?”

Others felt that the castigation of Sarah was unjustified, that her post was taken way out of proportion and she wasn’t bodyshaming others at all. Instead, she was just pep-talking herself into having a body that makes her happy.

“She doesn’t wanna eat to the point where she feel set, I can relate to that, who does? That’s not fun… Why do we have to shame her for wanting to keep the shape that she has? What’s our issue that we are on here telling her she’s a part of the problem….”

I love it. And I think sometimes we just need to stop jumping to conclusions and realize that all this was, is a joke and something for her. If you don’t like it, just keep scrolling. She didn’t do anything wrong here. Have a great holiday everyone!

The Veronika Decides to Die actress isn’t the only star who found themselves in a bodyshaming controversy. Actress Chloe Grace Moretz publicly apologized after press materials for her film, Red Shoes & The 7 Dwarfs appeared online.

People weren’t too happy with the poster’s statement that because Snow White was no longer thin that she couldn’t be beautiful. Oh, and the fact that she is shorter and clearly upset that she’s no longer her tall, languid self.

Chloe publicly apologized on Twitter for the marketing materials, completely disavowing the direction the PR team took. She said no one consulted her or her team before they went public.

Then there were celebrities who got caught straight-up bodyshaming people, like Riverdale actor Charles Melton who once tweeted, when he was much younger, that “Fat chicks need to understand that wearing yoga pants is a privilege, not a right.”

He was pretty savage when it came to dissing “fat people” on his Twitter account, with more than a few tweets making mean-spirited jokes at their expense. He decided to combat the negative press and social media uproar when the tweets were unearthed by making his account private.

Instagram fitness models were also called out for bodyshaming with “fitspo” posts, like this mom who got under a lot of people’s skin with her post-pregnancy bounce-back pic, which asked, “What’s your excuse?”

People didn’t take too kindly to the question that Maria Kang posed, and accused the mom and personal health guru of bodyshaming other moms who weren’t as trim and fit as her. It even sparked an online movement of moms who posted their own photos with their families saying that they didn’t need excuses for the ways their bodies looked.

Do you think that people who are posting “fitspo” entries online are guilty of bodyshaming? Or do you think that celebrities and other notable figures online just welcome that kind of criticism from everyone online?

8 Things Most Instagram Fitness Models Don’t Talk About

Many of us get hypnotized while looking through the perfect pictures fitness models post in their social media accounts. Whether we want to or not, we compare ourselves to them, often feeling guilty for eating junk food or hitting the gym less than they do. It turns out, however, that there is a whole list of tricks Instagram models use to make us believe they know how to get the perfect body.

Here at Bright Side, we tried to learn what tricks hide behind these ideal pictures of fitness models and we can’t wait to tell you what we’ve found out.

1. Their pictures may be edited.

Karina Irby, a bikini model and designer, promotes body positivity by posting her unedited pictures. Now and then she posts collages showing the differences between a real body and a photoshopped one. “I feel like it’s so important to keep educating people on social media to remember that sometimes not everything is how it may seem. Girls can develop these unrealistic expectations of what they think is beautiful and achievable,” Karina said about retouched pictures.

Many fitness models cheat by posting their retouched pics in social media accounts, making their followers compare themselves to “perfect” people. The campaign for unedited pictures showing people the way they are has recently gained popularity. Body-positive models promote self-love and acceptance and try to tell people how important it is to respect yourself the way you are.

2. Poses and angles make all the difference.

Ideal pictures that fitness models post are carefully selected, even though it may not seems that way at first sight. Trainer Jen Widerstorm proved this by posting a collage of pictures taken 2 minutes apart. In one part of the collage she sits and her stomach seems to roll over her pants, while in the other part she stands and her stomach looks perfect. “We all look like this when we sit. Don’t stress about the way your body looks in certain positions,” says Jen.

3. They work hard on their “spontaneous” photos.

A working model Rebecca Pearson made headlines when she confessed that she was deliberately creating the image of a perfect life on Instagram to get a job. She revealed the truth about a few of her popular snaps. One of these pics shows Rebecca leaping spontaneously but in fact, it took her boyfriend half an hour and 300 takes to get that perfect “spontaneous” snap.

4. They may lie about their perfect shape.

Another picture of Rebecca shows her sitting on a chair, stretching her leg and showing off her ideal belly with ripped abs. The truth is, however, that she never had that toned stomach and it was all about her pose and the lighting. “Never mind that I don’t even have a 1-pack — this was Instagram gold! Predictably, as so many people love a #fitspiration tag, I got tons of likes and comments like ‘ABS GIRL!’ and ‘WASHBOARD’, which made me feel a bit guilty,” confessed Rebecca.

5. Their detox beverages may be faked.

Fitness models post tons of pictures of “healthy superfoods” they eat to look gorgeous and we often buy it. The truth is that they may only post it, but never actually eat or drink them — they may even fake those superfoods. This is true about this picture of a wellness smoothie that consisted of rhubarb, beetroot leaves, parsnip, and kale. “After taking 2 sips I heaved, threw it down the sink and had to make do with peanut butter on toast and some chocolate for dinner — a not-so aspirational meal that I didn’t publicize,” said Rebecca Pearson, a model who posted this on her Instagram account.

6. They don’t actually work out when they tell you they do.

Another way of cheating used by fitness models is posting pics of their workouts that don’t actually take place. The model confessed, “As a fun post, I decided to get a shot of me doing yoga, Dostoevsky in hand, with the hashtag #dostoyflexy. I didn’t do any exercise on that day (nor did I ever smile like this whilst reading that book), I just donned the workout gear for the 5 minutes it took to take the photo.”

7. Their “ideal” pictures only show the chosen moments of their lives.

When we look through the models’ Instagram accounts, their bodies and lives, in general, seem ideal. We should remember, however, that what we see is just a collection of carefully chosen pictures showing just one (the most attractive) side of their lives. “Me 1% of the time vs 99% of the time. And I love both photos equally. Good or bad angles don’t change your worth,” says a personal trainer Anna Victoria in a caption to the pic showing her body looking different at different moments.

8. They may just be naturally thin.

While some models post pics of green salads and wellness smoothies, others choose to show themselves eating junk food now and then to prove it’s possible to eat all those sweet and fatty foods and stay thin. Even if they manage to stay in good shape, occasionally eating hamburgers or pizza, it doesn’t mean this trick will work for the rest of us. We are all different, we have different body types and metabolisms, and some people may find it easier to combine perfect bodies with eating whatever they want, just because their body can manage it.

Don’t compare yourself to others, love and respect yourself, and be particular about the examples you follow.

What do you think of these “secrets” that fitness models hide from people’s eyes? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments!

Kim Zolciak Allegedly Photoshopped Her Kids on Instagram But That's Not Her Worst "Bad Mom" Moment

Former Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kim Zolciak-Biermann is known for her filter-heavy Instagram posts — but even her fans were surprised to find out Kim has seemingly digitally altered her younger kids in more than one posts.

Followers accused the mother-of-five of Photoshopping her four-year-old daughter Kaia’s body and nose on the social media platform. @thegoodthebadandthefake shared a side-by-side photo of pic along with a reportedly unedited version on their Instagram account, which has since been deleted, but pointed out the differences.

In another post, Kim was accused of altering a photo to make her son Kane’s ears appear smaller, prompting fans to call out the reality star. “I guess all the backlash last time didn’t faze her. You will not get away with this! You are a disgusting human being and karma will get you,” one follower commented before another added, “Can’t believe Bravo hasn’t cancelled this poor excuse of a mother.”

Despite the photo “proof,” Kim is denying the allegations, responding to her mommy shamers on Twitter. “People are *$&#ing SICK!! Get the &#^$ out here!! No post was taken down and no photo has been nor will ever be edited of my children! I will no longer stand for this bull#^$#,” she wrote. However, this is not the first (nor will it probably be the last) time that Kim has been dubbed a “bad mom” by haters on the internet.

Remember that time she offered John Legend her daughter’s “services” for free concert tickets?

Kim was in hot water after she asked John’s wife Chrissy Teigen just what Brielle Biermann, who was 20 years old at the time, had to do to get see him perform live. “Sooo ur hubby is comin to ATL may 19 and Kash is beyond OBSESSED w him! Who does Brielle have to blow in order to meet him?? LOL,” she jokingly asked. Her fans, unfortunately, were not laughing.

“Plz don’t blow anyone it’s not that good of a show. Jk it’s good but I’ll get you tix without the oral,” Chrissy responded before followers started dragging Kim for the NSFW humor. “Just a suggestion, but you know you can just go on Ticketmaster and not pimp out your daughter?” one Twitter user suggested. Another added, “This is a ‘joke’ that totally crosses the line. Kim you are dumber than I thought you were for not deleting this by now.”

Brielle did come to her mom’s defense, explaining in a since-deleted video that, “My mom is not pimping me out. That tweet was my choice.” Right…

Or when she bought Brielle a handgun two weeks after the Parkland shooting?

For her birthday, Brielle received a gun from her mom and stepdad Kroy Biermann — and fans were not impressed. “I’m moving out on my own, I don’t want to live without a gun. I’m scared of my own &$^@ing shadow,” Brielle told photographers of the gift. “I think it’s fine to have a gun as long as you’re mentally stable. I think the rules and regulations need to be a little more.. than what they are now.”

She also made it clear the weapon was purchased before the school shooting, adding, “He bought it before and had it custom made… he bought it before. It took awhile.”

What about that time her daughter Ariana Biermann wore a shock collar?

Kim took to Snapchat to share videos of her then-14-year-old daughter willingly wearing a shock collar and agreeing to get shocked in order to hang out with her friends. Again, Kim and Kroy were criticized for their poor parenting decisions. “Sometimes in life you have to just not post things on social media. My word, just sad that she posted what she did,” one fan pointed out.

Speaking of dogs…

Last year, Kim’s 6-year-old son Kash was attacked by one of the family’s four-legged pets and sustained serious injuries to his face. “I don’t know where to start. The last 14 hours of our lives has been a living nightmare. My sweet @kashbiermann was bit by a dog and had very traumatic injuries. I’ve never prayed so hard, or been so scared in my life,” she wrote at the time. “Kash was in the operating room for a couple hours and now we are praying for a quick speedy recovery. ” Luckily, Kash made a full recovery.

However, her decision to keep the dog who bit her son did not sit well with fans. “It was not an attack — he nipped at Kash’s face in an attempt to communicate with Kash. Not that that is an excuse. But he took off running. It wasn’t as if he was attacking. Sinn knew he had done wrong,” Kim explained. “If Kash ever looked at me and said that he didn’t want to be around Sinn or showed any hesitation, then he wouldn’t be here. We love Sinn, he’s part of our family, but our children will always come first without a doubt.”

Whatever the case, Kim is one protective mom when it comes to trolls on the internet. When body shamers were attacking Ariana, Kim did not hold back. “My sweet, smart, motivated princess @arianabiermann,” she wrote. “She has the biggest ?? and is even more beautiful on the inside and you LOW LIFE &#*holes who have the audacity to make your rude comments, ‘she finally lost weight”http://undefined/”she finally came into her own.”http://undefined/”

And Kim didn’t stop there. “WTF is wrong with you! You are the problem with society. What possesses you to sit behind a computer and write a negative comment?” she continued. “Can you imagine if you took the time to write something positive or nothing at all how wonderful this world would be!!! You leave my baby alone she is a child!!!! Got it!!! #YouHaveNoClueTheImpactYouHaveOnSomeone #SheIsAChild #GetALife #IfYouArentPositiveUNFOLLOW #EachOneOfMyGirlsAreUniqueAndSpecial.”

Victoria Caputo Is Not on 'Long Island Medium' Anymore But You Can Still Follow Her on Instagram

Fans of Long Island Medium might notice that Theresa Caputo’s daughter, Victoria, isn’t appearing on the TLC series as much as she used to. However, that doesn’t mean that Victoria’s not getting along with her mom — she’s just focused on other things.

“In all fairness, I mean, look our lives are all so different,” Theresa told viewers on the show regarding why her kids are no longer making an appearance. “When we started Long Island Medium, little Larry [Theresa’s son] just graduated college, Victoria just graduated high school. You know, they’re growing up. Larry lives in the city now. Victoria now too.”

Luckily, you can follow Victoria on Instagram!

The 24-year-old uses the social media platform to show off her special talent — hairstyling. After studying at Southern Connecticut State University for three years, Victoria decided to drop out and attend cosmetology school to become a colorist. The former reality starlet graduated from Cactus Academy of Paul Mitchell in 2015, and currently works at Salon Entourage in Syosset, NY, as a hairdresser.

According to her Instagram page, she is best known for her balayage skills. She even used her mom’s famous tagline and has dubbed herself the “Long Island Balayage” in her bio. On her professional social media page, she features clients that she has transformed. So, while her mom helps people to feel good on the inside, Victoria helps individuals to feel great on the outside.

Victoria clapped back at trolls who called out her weight gain.

“Fans” of the TLC series were quick to jump on social media and bully Victoria about her body — and she did not hold back. “Just want to give a shout out to all my haters. Yes I have gained weight recently and although I am not happy about it and have my insecurities, it does not change me as a person,” she wrote. “Plus I’m sure there will be a day that will come and I will shed this weight, but as of now, this is what it is. So for all of you who want to keep commenting about the way I look, just don’t. Worry about yourself because your comment ain’t going to make you any better of a person.”

Her boyfriend doesn’t seem to mind her curves.

Victoria is all about her relationship with boyfriend, Michael Mastrandrea. Victoria recently gushed about her BF on social media, writing, “A whole year of snuggles, snoring, sleepover, hugs, kisses and late nights of Fortnite battle royal. Love ya.” Michael also feels the same way. “Wish I could say I couldn’t love you more than I do right now, but tomorrow I know I will,” he captioned a selfie of the couple. Awww.

What about her brother, Larry Jr.?

Larry recently celebrated his 28th birthday — and dedicated most of his Instagram page to his girlfriend, Leah Munch. However, just like his sister, Larry Jr. is also having a hard time dealing with his parents’ split. “Especially with this, it’s uncomfortable and it’s hard for my kids,” Theresa explained. “They don’t want to even talk about it with me, period. They know that they can come to Larry and I, you know, if they ever want to talk about it. [We] kind of just left it in their hands.”

Last year, Theresa and her now estranged husband, Larry, decided to separate after nearly three decades together. The reality star, 52, officially filed for divorce this past April. Larry is currently living in Los Angeles, while Theresa remains in New York. Last month, Larry told TMZ of his currently relationship status, “I have moved on. I’m fortunate enough to say that I have met someone special. But I’ll just leave it for that now.”

In a clip from Season 13 of Long island Medium, Larry and Theresa sit down and talk about their separation. “I’ve had a lot of time to reflect on everything,” Larry is shown telling his ex before Theresa interjects, “I feel like as hard and as difficult it was for us to separate, it just wasn’t working.”

The couple initially released a statement back in December 2017, revealing their decision to separate. “After 28 years of marriage, we have decided to legally separate,” the statement read. “We will always love each other and our two wonderful children. We are united in supporting each other and our family. Please respect our privacy during this time.”

You can watch new episodes of Long Island Medium on Mondays at 8 p.m. EST on TLC.
